Religion : Mandatory school post: Research
- Religion is a concept created by man to explain what couldn't be explained by science at the time. It is the belief system that a group of people follow. There are thousands of religions world wide, the most popular being: Christianity with nearly 2.2 billion followers, Islam with about 1.3 billion followers and Hindu with 860 million followers.
- The Sumerians (who are known for being the first group of nomads to create the first civilization) were probably the first to create, or practice Religion, or "Systematic and organized spiritual practices". Sumerian religion is thought to be the basis on many other religions such as Akkadian, Babylonian, Judaic, Greek, Roman, Christian, and Muslim.
- Christianity started with Judaism. Judaism basically started When Hebrews Were enslaved by the Egyptians. Moses was one of these Hebrews and according to the Old Testament in the 2nd chapter of the Book of Exodus; Moses saw an Egyptian abusing a Hebrew. Moses became upset and killed the Egyptian. To escape execution, or punishment, He fled Egypt. according to the Old Testament God came down to Moses and told him to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt.
- Today, religion is practiced by 84% of the world, and it isn't going anywhere. As long as science can't explain everything, and even then, Religion will be popular among the human inhabitants of Earth.
